Sharon R. Schasel-Brown
Born in WNY, I have been drawing and painting since I was a child. The scenery in our surrounding area intrigues me and has influenced many of my paintings. As a self-taught artist, I work in many mediums and paint various subjects from landscapes to animals. When doing an animal’s portrait, I love to see the expression on people’s faces when they see the finished portrait. The joy they bring to people pleases me and makes it all worthwhile. I’m proud to say that my artwork hangs in many private collections.
As an award winning pastel artist, I exhibit inEast Aurora, Hamburg & West Seneca. I have been a member of both the East Aurora Art Society and the Hamburg Centennial Art Center for more than 20 years. More recently, I joined the West Seneca Art Society and Enjoy the Journey Art Gallery.
I have recently ventured into the world of acrylic and mixed media. It will be interesting to see where it leads me. I find I need to be creating something most of the time, even if it’s doll clothes for my granddaughters’ 18” dolls!
