Artist Statement
Creating with oil or pastels outdoors enables plein air paintings to capture the quality & beauty of Western New York and my travels. You may enjoy time outdoors, but as an artist I work outdoors at my easel, hearing leaves, birds, and distant train whistles. Taking pleasure in the time outside and the whimsies of nature, I observe and capture our changing environment.
Formerly a Niagara Falls High School Art instructor I maintain a studio and gallery in Grand Island and travel extensively with my paint box. A Board Member of International Plein Air Painters, Niagara Frontier Plein Air Painters & Buffalo Niagara Art Association, my oil and pastel work is exhibited in public & private collections in 31 states & on 4 continents.
